With the means of surgical breast enhancement changing pace every couple of years or so, this procedure has become more advanced more than ever. Years before for example, silicone was the only possibility for breast implants. Now however, there are a significant number of doctors are opting for saline implants, which are generally less expensive and in their opinions general safer. In surgery breast augmentation incisions and recovery from each of them varies greatly according to the incision made, and of course the natural recovery pace of the person. The first type of incision is the Peri-Areolar incision wherein the surgeon enters the breast through an incision on the outer side of the patient’s nipple. This type of incision is ideal for those who are particular about the consequences of scars. The downside to this is if done incorrectly, the patient may lose all nipple sensation. The second type is the Trans Axillary incision wherein the surgeon is able to place the implant by making an incision through the patient’s armpit. This procedure however may cause increased bleeding if not controlled properly, and eventually creates a wider cleavage for the patient. Incisions can also be made under the breast fold. This is favorable for the surgeon being able to place the implant effectively and the scarring is also minimal. And lastly, the more controversial type is the Trans Umbilical insertion wherein the implant is injected through the outer edge of the belly button and into the breasts. The recovery time for these surgeries is 2-3 days full reclining and resting position and no heavy exertion for about a week. Normal activities may resume after 2 weeks, with six weeks as the maximum period.
